SINGAPORE DAY 13
it was pouring today!! I wore my sandals and everything was mushy and slushy.
We weaved in and out through the shelter of the buildings trying to find our way to Little India. When we happened upon the restaurant I thought it was by mistake but turned out to be just the place we were looking for, a truly authentic incredibly delicious place. I got this vegetarian sample platter meal that was served with rice on a banana leaf. This was the best meal I had so far, my mouth waters just thinking about it. Afterward we went to this huge flee market thing which was too overwhelming for me and my full belly and sleepy brains. The rain did not let up and literally rained out our plans so we all went back to home base to recoup with tentative plans for a boat ride later. Thankfully the rain stopped and we were able to relax on a boat that gave a tour of the city through calm waters with a cool breeze. This area where we caught the boat is the area I feel like we were looking for the whole time and I’m a little sad we didn’t find it earlier. I hope I get to go back to this riverside area. It looks like it comes alive at night.
